What does “Domain Parking” mean?

Let’s assume that you have two domains: x.com and y.com. 
You 
already have a site for x.com, but you don’t want to make a 
new one for y.com. By parking y.com over x.com, all the 
users who 
access y.com will be redirected towards x.com
